When we focus only on ourselves,<\/p>
something slowly shifts.<\/p>
Not all at once.<\/p>
Not in a dramatic way.<\/p>
We start by protecting our space.<\/p>
Our time.<\/p>
Our comfort.<\/p>
And without realizing it,<\/p>
we stop seeing what’s around us.<\/p>
Human values don’t disappear suddenly.<\/p>
They fade quietly.<\/p>
We teach others to do the same.<\/p>
To look inward first.<\/p>
To put distance where there used to be attention.<\/p>
And that’s how egocentrism grows.<\/p>
Not because people are bad,<\/p>
But because it becomes normal.<\/p>
Everyone for themselves.<\/p>
Everyone careful.<\/p>
Everyone guarded.<\/p>
But something else grows with it.<\/p>
Frustration.<\/p>
Loneliness.<\/p>
A sense of separation.<\/p>
And then a question appears.<\/p>
How do we tell someone<\/p>
I love you<\/p>
or I care about you<\/p>
if, every day,<\/p>
we teach the opposite?<\/p>
If we teach distance instead of presence.<\/p>
Protection instead of attention.<\/p>
Ourselves instead of each other.<\/p>
Negative emotions don’t come from caring too much about ourselves.<\/p>
They come from caring only about ourselves.<\/p>
Because we’re not built to exist alone.<\/p>
We’re shaped through others.<\/p>
Through gestures.<\/p>
Through consideration.<\/p>
Thinking of the other<\/p>
isn’t losing something.<\/p>
It’s remembering<\/p>
What keeps us human.<\/p>
