Do you have to become stronger, or just someone else?

How many times have we looked at ourselves
and thought we needed to change?
To be less sensitive.
Less afraid.
More confident.
More like the people
who seem to know exactly what they’re doing.
We call it becoming stronger.
But sometimes
we’re not becoming stronger.
We’re just becoming someone
we think we should be.
And maybe strength
doesn’t always look like changing.
Sometimes it looks like
staying soft in a world
that keeps telling you not to be.
Like saying what you really think.
Like admitting you don’t know.
Like asking for help.
Like walking away from something
that doesn’t feel like you anymore.
Maybe becoming stronger
isn’t about becoming harder.
Maybe it’s about knowing yourself well enough
to stop trying to become someone else.
Because there is a difference
between growing
and leaving yourself behind.
And perhaps the real question isn’t
“How can I become stronger?”
But:
“Can I become more myself?”
