When did resting become something we have to earn?

Somewhere along the way,

we started believing
that slowing down
meant we weren’t doing enough.

So we fill every hour.

Every silence.

Every empty space.

As if being busy
was the only way
to prove
we are living.

But maybe
resting
was never meant
to be earned.

Maybe it’s
simply
part of us.
